Black Cherry (Prunus serotina)
Black Cherry, sometimes known as Wild Cherry is one of the most distinct woods on the east coast. When cut, it has a blonde appearance with a slight pink hue. Over time, the wood will begin to turn a rich red, especially when exposed to sunlight. It is an incredible wood that is hard enough to be durable, but machines and works extremely well. It is one of the best species for woodworking.
